WASHINGTON – US President Donald Trump’s first tweet of 2018 accusingPakistan of ‘deceit and lies’ against the aid provided to it was his mostliked tweet ever.

According to Twitter analytics, Trump’s tweet in which he was apparentlyseething, for handing over $33b to Pakistan in terms of assistance (thoughthe figures are disputed) was favourited for a record 253 K times, which isstill counting.

Moreover, the message was also retweeted for a record 85,000 times, hishighest ever figure.

The outlandish tweet, that left Islamabad in shock and anger for havingprovided matchless support to Washington in war against terror engaged arecord Twitterati (33,8112).

The reason for the engagements is the fact that due to penetration ofinternet, Pakistani’s who are in droves on the microblogging platform, felthumiliated by the allegations of providing safe havens to the terroristsand so responded the tweet with anger.

Pakistan has yet to give an official rejoiner to Trump’s remarks and aspecial meeting of National Security Council has been convened today.
