KABUL – Pakistan and Afghanistan have decided to engage in high leveltalks and the government delegations from both sides to exchange visits inorder to remove the bilateral misunderstandings over the issue of the crossborder terrorism.
A high-level Pakistani government delegation would be visiting Afghanistanon February 3rd to hold first meeting of Afghanistan-Pakistan Action Planfor Solidarity (APAPS), a statement from the Pakistani embassy said onWednesday.
Headed by Pakistan’s foreign secretary, the delegation would holdconstructive and meaningful discussions with Afghanistan on all issuesincluding Counter-Terrorism, Peace and Reconciliation and Repatriation ofRefugees, the statement said.
It added, Pakistan wanted to engage with Afghanistan at official and Stateto State level rather than conducting diplomacy through the media.
“For this very reason, the Prime Minister of Pakistan had wanted to speakwith the President of Afghanistan; and we accepted urgent request of theAfghan government to receive Minister of Interior Affairs Wais Ahmad Barmakand NDS Chief Mohammad Masoom Stanekzai at Islamabad, today, carrying amessage from President of Afghanistan.
