GWADAR – Minister of State for Maritimes Affairs, Chaudhry Jaffer Iqbal hassaid that a new berth will be constructed at Gwadar Port within one year,providing a larger anchoring space to accommodate three additional bigships.
Talking to APP in Gwadar, he said the 900-metre-long berth will offer avertical front from the Gwadar coastline into Arabian Sea to facilitate theloading and unloading of cargo from the vessel.
He said work on construction of a 15-kilometre-long road from Zero Point inGwadar to Coastal Highway is underway, along with lying of railway trackside by side.
The Minister of State said a 12-kilometre-long air strip at the new GwadarInternational Airport would be completed in one year.
