ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has urged the World Bank tohelp resolve water dispute between Pakistan and India by effectivelyplaying the role mandated to it under Indus Water Treaty (IWT).
He was talking to a delegation of World Bank headed by its Regional VicePresident Ms. Annette Dixon in Islamabad today (Saturday).
The Prime Minister emphasized that Pakistan looks forward to World Bank’ssupport in the timely completion of the ongoing developmental projects.
He informed the delegation of the overall reform agenda of the presentgovernment which has resulted in revival of the economy, putting economicgrowth on an upward trajectory.
Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that the government is also taking concretemeasures to improve ease of doing business in the country.
He said that significant improvement of law and order, management of energycrisis and massive infrastructure development under the umbrella of CPECare strengthening the economy.
Both sides also discussed various ongoing developmental projects beingundertaken in partnership with the World Bank and the dispute with Indiaover Kishanganga and Ratle projects.
