ISLAMABAD: High Commissioner of Nigeria Ashimiyu Adebayo Olaniyi called onNational Security Adviser (NSA) Nasser Janjua here on Friday.
They discussed ways and means to enhance bilateral relations and matterspertaining to defence cooperation and stability in South Asia and Africa.The high commissioner said that Nigeria attached great importance to itsrelations with Pakistan.
He expressed keen desire to boost bilateral relations with Pakistan throughmutual cooperation in multiple areas including defence, counterterrorism,trade and social sector development.
They agreed to keep up the momentum of improvement in the relations of thetwo countries and increase the frequency of high-level exchanges.
The high commissioner conveyed the desire of his government to startcomprehensive counterterrorism cooperation with Pakistan, including theexchange of actionable intelligence and tracking of terror financing.
Janjua expressed the willingness and commitment of Pakistan to expandcooperation with Nigeria in all fields. He also extended invitation toNigerian NSA to visit Pakistan.
Both sides agreed to work together at all levels to promote cordialcooperation in bilateral relations. – Agencies
