*ISLAMABAD -Pakistan former captain Shahid Afridi has expressed his desireto play an international match at Lord’s on May 31, where West Indies willtake on a Rest of the World XI in a fundraiser T20 game.*
International Cricket Council has granted the match international statusand the funds generated will be used for restoration of cricket grounds inthe Caribbean.
“I don’t have details about the match but if there is an offer, I willconsider it,” *Wisden India *quoted Afridi.
Afridi hung up boots from international cricket in 2016, after he lastrepresented Pakistan in a T20 match against Australia.
Meanwhile, Boom Boom Afridi has been a regular feature in various domesticleagues. For the moment, the former captain is gearing up for the thirdedition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), where he will be representingthe Karachi Kings franchise, after parting ways with Peshawar Zalmi.
“The last couple of seasons in the leagues have been good for me. SometimesI go months without cricket, therefore before an event, I have to put inthe extra yards to get myself ready for cricket.
“I have started to practice for the PSL. I have reduced my other activitiesand am focusing more on the PSL. Hopefully, the upcoming season will begood for me,” said Afridi.
The PSL season 3 will kick off from February 22, with a match betweendefending champions Peshawar Zalmi and debutants Multan Sultans.
