LAHORE – World’s fastest bowler Shoaib Akhtar has been appointed as theadviser to the chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on cricket affairsand brand ambassador, the PCB announced on Friday night.
According to the cricket board, Akhtar responded positively to theannouncement, saying he wanted ‘to take Pakistan cricket to the next level’.
“Akhtar has been appointed advisor to chairman on cricket affairs and brandambassador PCB,” the cricket board chairman Najam Sethi revealed on socialmedia.

Following the announcement, Shoaib tweeted, “Looking forward to work withNajam Sethi and PCB to take Pakistan cricket to the next level,” Shoaibwrote in response to the chairman’s tweet.

The 42-year-old holds the record for the fastest ball delivered in recordedcricket history (100.2 mph).
From 1997 to 2011, the ‘Rawalpindi Express’ represented Pakistan in 46 Testmatches, 163 one-day internationals, and 15 Twenty20 internationals, takinga collective 444 wickets in the three formats.
