WASHINGTON – Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Aizaz AhmadChaudhry has said that Islamabad and Washington have to continue to worktogether to secure peace and stability in Afghanistan and the region.
Addressing an event on Pakistan-U.S. relations at California, he saidalthough Pakistan desires good relations with the United States but itcannot be made a scapegoat for the failures of others in Afghanistan.
He said that peace in Afghanistan is in Pakistan’s own interest andpolitical reconciliation is the only option to move forward.
He expressed the hope that people to people contacts and private sectorengagements will remain continue despite a stress in relations between thetwo countries.
