COAS General Bajwa tells Afghanistan not to let it s soil used against Pakistan

KABUL – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa has reiteratedPakistan’s stance that there are no terrorists safe heavens in Pakistanwhile at the same time urged the Afghanistan to do the same on its soil.

He had arrived in Afghanistan to attend Chiefs of Defence (CHOD) Conferenceheld at Kabul on Tuesday.

Commander USCENTCOM, Commander Resolute Support Mission (RSM) and ArmyChiefs of Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan andUzbekistan also attended the conference. The conference concluded tocontinue cooperation for peace and stability in the region.

Speaking on the occasion, COAS reiterated that path to regional peace andstability passes through Afghanistan. “Regions develop as whole, notindividual countries. Pakistan has eliminated all terrorist sanctuariesfrom its soil; however, residual signatures of terrorists who takeadvantage of presence of 2.7 million Afghan refugees and absence ofeffective border security coordination, are also being traced and targetedthrough ongoing operation Rada ul Fasaad,” he maintained.

He also assured that Pakistani territory is not allowed to be used againstany other country and Pakistan expects the same in reciprocity.

He said that collaborative approach and persistence is the answer to allchallenges, for which Pakistan is ready to play its part.
