No decision on continuation of talks with Pakistan: Afghan FO spokesperson

KABUL – The ministry of foreign affairs of Afghanistan says no decision hasbeen taken regarding the continuation of talks with Pakistan in theframework of Afghanistan-Pakistan Action Plan for Peace and Solidarity(APAPPS), Khaama Press has reported.

Foreign ministry spokesman Ahmad Shekib Mostaghani told reporters on Sundaythat no improvements have been made on issues critical to Afghanistanduring the second round of the talks.

Mostaghni further added that the Afghan delegation did not receive clearanswers regarding the subjects that are important for Afghanistan andtherefore no decision has been made so far to continue the talks.

According to Mostaghani, specific, results-oriented, time-bound measures inthe APAPPS, particularly in the areas of counter terrorism, reduction ofviolence, peace and reconciliation to meet the priorities of Afghanistanare the top priorities of the Afghan government.

He said discussions were made regarding the topics but no developments wereachieved.

In the meantime, a spokesman for the ministry of foreign affairs ofPakistan Dr. Mohammad Faisal in a Twitter post has said that someagreements were made during the two-day talks but further work is required.
