BEIJING: United States has been dominating the air space for last manydecades and is the undisputed air power and likely to remain at the topmost slot for next many years to come.
US F-22 Stealth Fighter and Joint Strike Factor JSF F 35 are likely to bethe main arsenal of US Air Power in future.
J-20 is a stealth fighter Jet which has the capability to escape the enemyradar detection which makes it the direct competitor of the US F-22 Raptor.
J-20 is equipped with the Chinese AESA Radar and the Chinese Avionics andArmament equivalent to its US Counterpart however little is known about theJet engine, a technology where so far Chinese are believed to be inferiorto its US Counterparts.
However the Russian made engines or their Chinese equivalent are likelyoccupying the engine bay of the Chinese Stealth Fighter J-20.
J-20 warplane has entered the combat service. China expects the J-20 tohelp narrow the military gap with the United States, and its confirmationof the aircraft’s first test flight coincided with a visit to Beijing in2011 by then-US Defense Secretary Robert Gates.
Some analysts have said J-20 suggest China may be makingfaster-than-expected progress in developing a rival to Lockheed Martin’sradar-evading F-22 Raptor.
“At present, the J-20 has entered air force service,” and Y-20 transporter, are still being test flown as planned, the air force said.
“In the near future, the Y-20 will, in succession, be equipped for service, effectively raising the air force’s ability to fulfil its mission.
However, experts say China is struggling to develop advanced engines thatwould allow its warplanes to match US fighter in combat.
China has rapidly been ramping up research into advanced new militaryequipment, including submarines, aircraft carriers and anti-satellitemissiles, which has rattled nerves regionally and in Washington especially.
