KARACHI – Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) on Friday has asked Muttahida QaumiMovement-Pakistan (MQM-P) members of provincial assemblies for support inSenate elections on March 3.
PPP MPA Saeed Ghani said that PPP would take benefit from the MQM-P’sinternal differences in the Senate polls.
The time period to submit nomination papers for the Senate electionsexpired on Thursday with 144 candidates submitting their forms to ElectionCommission of Pakistan (ECP) for 52 seats.
there are 34 candidates each from Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) while28 from Balochistan and 47 from Sindh. One nominee from Islamabad emergedfor technocrat seat while the body received nomination document for FATA.

PTI Chairman Imran Khan named Chaudhry Sarwar, Andleeb Abbas from Punjabwhile Faisal Javed, Major (retd) Fida Hussain, Azam Swati, Meher TajRoghani, Khayal Zaman Orakzai and Ayub Afridi from KP.
While PPP has retained the name of Raza Rabbani in its list, MQM-P’sinternal rift over Senate polls resulted in nominations from both factionseparately.
