KANDARHAR CITY – An unidentified gunman shot dead three police personnelin the capital of southern Kandahar province on Wednesday, an official said.

A well-placed source, who did not wanted to be named, told Pajhwok AfghanNews the incident took place in the Faqeer Baba Street in Kandahar Cityearly in the morning.

The gunman escaped after the assault, the official added. There was noimmediate claim of responsibility for the attack.
