Pakistan Russia hold strategic dialogues in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan and Russia have agreed to further the positivetrajectory of overall bilateral relations by exploring avenues for mutuallybeneficial cooperation.

The agreement was reached at the 12th Meeting of Pakistan-RussiaConsultative Group on Strategic Stability in Islamabad today.

According to Foreign Office, the Pakistani side was led by SpecialSecretary United Nations and Economic Coordination Ambassador Tasnim Aslamwhile the Russian delegation was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister ofRussia Sergey Ryabkov.

The two sides expressed high degree of satisfaction over their closecoordination, cooperation and consultations at various international fora.

In-depth exchange of views took place on regional and global developmentsin the context of arms control, disarmament and non-proliferation.

The talks were marked by a commonality of approach and convergence on arange of contemporary issues in the backdrop of a fast-evolving strategiclandscape.
