LAHORE – National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has decided to launch a newinvestigations against the former DG LDA Ahad Cheema.

NAB on Wednesday approved fresh investigation into ‘assets beyond means’ ofAhad Cheema.

Director General (DG) of Lahore formed an investigation team to probe AhadCheema’s assets.

Sources informed that the new team will probe assets of Cheema, and it willalso have the power to freeze his assets until the case is closed.

NAB will request judicial remand of Cheema from accountability court whilehearing of Ashiana scheme scandal on March 5. According to sources, theanti-graft body will request judicial remand in assets case if the earlierremand is rejected by court.

More than a week ago, NAB had arrested the former head of the LahoreDevelopment Authority Cheema to question him about his alleged involvementin Lahore’s Ashiana-i-Iqbal Housing Society scam.
