Pakistan s National Security Committee has decided to recalibrate the Foreign Policy: Report

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan’s National Security Committee meeting has agreed onthe importance of recalibrating the foreign policy framework to bring morefocus on countries of the region.

The meeting of the committee to review the current international andregional situation was held in Islamabad with Prime Minister Shahid KhaqanAbbasi in the chair, Radio Pakistan has reported.

The committee also agreed to launch new initiatives to enhance economicpartnerships with friendly countries in the region and beyond for a win-wincooperation.

The Foreign Minister briefed the Committee on his recent successful visitto Russia and recalled the desire of the two countries to furtherstrengthen bilateral relations in all areas.

The Committee reaffirmed Pakistan’s abiding interest in lasting peace inAfghanistan.

The meeting was attended by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Defence,Interior, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Finance, Chairman Joint Chiefsof Staff Committee and the three Services Chiefs.
