LAHORE – Not only in Pakistan, but the Resolution Day was also celebratedin different countries across the world.
In Pakistan, the day dawned with a 31-gun salute in the federal capital anda 21-gun salute in the provincial capitals.
*Srilanka*
In Srilanka, High Commission of Islamic Republic of Pakistan and Pakistanicommunity celebrated the day with traditional fervour and resolve to makePakistan a strong, vibrant, progressive and democratic welfare state.
According to the Embassy sources, the Acting High Commissioner (AHC) ofPakistan hoisted the national flag of Pakistan in a colourful ceremony,held at the Pakistan High Commission this morning. Later, the messages ofthe President and Prime Minister of Pakistan were read out to the audience.
The AHC, on the occasion, said that Pakistan greatly values its relationswith Sri Lanka which are based on mutual trust and understanding. It is amatter of great satisfaction that these mutually beneficial relations,rooted in history, have become truly multi-dimensional, covering fields ofpolitics, economy, defence and security, culture, education andpeople-to-people contacts, he added.
*Singapore*
In Singapore, Pakistan Day was celebrated with national spirit, the day wasbegun with the hoisting of the flag by High Commissioner of SingaporeNasrullah Khan.
The officers and officials of the High Commission, as well as a crosssection of Pakistani community/diaspora members of the host country’sParliament and diplomatic were also attended the ceremony, said a messagereceived here from Embassy of Singapore.
The messages of the President and Prime Minister were read out. The HighCommissioner, in his address, highlighted the importance of the day and theprogress that Pakistan has made in every field of life.
He also underlined the achievements that the government of Pakistan madethrough its sound political and socio-economic policies. The HighCommissioner also complimented the contributions of the Pakistani communityto project a positive image of Pakistan in Singapore.
*Srinagar*
In Srinagar, Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) celebrated Pakistan Day, in which theparty chief Aasiya Andrabi said that all Muslims in the sub-continent arePakistanis.
Aasiya Andrabi addressing the party workers during a programme organized tocommemorate the Pakistan Day said, “Every Muslim in the sub-continent is aPakistani on the basis of Islam, Iman (faith), Quran and love for ProphetMuhammad (SAW).”
During the programme, Aasiya Andrabi and her supporters sang the NationalAnthem of Pakistan.
