*KARACHI: *The Pakistan flag was hoisted and lit yesterday on the JandranRidge in Kohlu, Balochistan to mark the 78th Pakistan Day.
The flag approximately measures 300×200 ft and rests 5,577 ft abovesea-level.
Pakistan Day is celebrated to commemorate the passing of Lahore Resolutionwhen the All India Muslim League stipulated a separate muslim nation fromthe British empire on March 23, 1940.
Earlier today the celebrations kicked off with a joint military parade atthe Parade Ground near Islamabad’s Shakarparian Hills.
Troops marched past and fighter jets presented a fly past. Floatsrepresenting myriad cultures of Pakistan were also displayed.
