*ISLAMABAD: Pakistani basketball team secured first position in thebasketball event during the ongoing Special Olympics: Middle East NorthAfrica (MENA) 9th Regional Games, being held in Abu Dhabi, the United ArabEmirates from 14-23 March 2018.*

Ambassador of Pakistan to the UAE Moazzam Ahmad Khan congratulated the teamand officials for bringing laurels to the country.

He also distributed the medals to the Pakistani team in a ceremony onTuesday. He appreciated their resolve and commitment for exhibiting highstandards of professionalism and sportsmanship during the competition.

Moazzam Khan also lauded the role of the UAE government in patronizing anumber of programmes for differently-abled people in order to build aninclusive society. In this regard, he congratulated the UAE government forsuccessfully holding the games.
