ISLAMABAD: Imran Khan addressed a joint press conference today in Karachiwith Dr Liaquat and welcomed him to the party.

Many have termed it a controversial decision but it is not.

Dr Amir Liaqat has to prove it that Imran Khan was not wrong. He himselfhas to honour his words.

Dr Liaquat was formerly associated with Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan(MQMP) and announced to quit the party as well as politics last yearfollowing a brief detention by Pakistan Rangers over anti-Pakistan tiradeof party founder.

Interior minister Ahsan Iqbal reacted in his tweet after Dr Liaquat pledgedloyalty to Imran Khan, that he had offered the same to Nawaz Sharif earlier.

Interior minister Ahsan Iqbal stated that he was part of the meeting duringwhich Dr Aamir Liaquat declared Nawaz Sharif true leader of Pakistan.

Interior minister’s statement came over an hour after PakistanTehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan formally welcomed Dr Liaquat to PTIin a joint press conference in Karachi today.

“For record sake: I was present in a meeting in which Dr Amir Liaqat met MrNawaz Sharif in Karachi and requested him to give time for a public meetingsaying that NS was a true leader of Pakistan and its only hope,” Ahsan said.

He asserted in his tweet that Dr Liaquat had requested Nawaz Sharif tospare some time for a public meeting.
