ISLAMABAD – PTI senior leader Naeem ul Huq has said that Jamaat e Islamihas stabbed us in the back in Senate elections by voting in favour of PMLNcandidate. JI Chief was elected as senator with support of PTI votes.
On the other side 103 senators are voting to elect a new chairman anddeputy chairman through a secret ballot on Monday.
The ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and its allies NationalParty (NP), Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP), PML-Functional and AwamiNational Party have agreed on PML-N’s Raja Zafarul Haq as chairman andPkMAP’s Usman Kakar as deputy chairman.
On the other hand, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and PakistanTehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have rallied behind Sadiq Sanjrani, an independentsenator from Balochistan, for chairman.
