Police Station in Srinagar attacked with Grenades

*New Delhi:* Kashmiri militants have attacked the Kral Khud police stationin SRINAGAR area with Grenades and gunfire.

Militants threw grenades at the police station followed by the gunfire.Security Forces and Militants have engaged in gunfire. There is no reportof causality so far.

Earlier an Indian soldier was killed in gunfire few days ago during anattempt by two militants to break through the perimeter (boundary wall) ofa Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) camp in Srinagar’s Karan Nagar areain Jammu and Kashmir.

The attack came just two days after a group of militants attacked theIndian Army’s Sunjwan camp in Jammu in which five soldiers, a civilian andall four terrorists were killed.

The CRPF confirmed that one soldier had been killed in the exchange offire, adding the attempt had been thwarted by the sentry who opened fire atthe militants. At the time of going to press, the encounter was still on.

The CRPF camp is located close to a police control room as well as theMaharaja Shri Hari Singh Hospital from where LeT militant Naveed Juttescaped on 6 February.
