KARACHI – The visiting Chief of Italian Navy Admiral Valter Girardellivisited various Naval Field Commands in Karachi.

He called on Commander Karachi Rear Admiral Ather Mukhtar, Commander CoastRear Admiral Moazzam Ilyas and Commander Pakistan Fleet Rear AdmiralMuhammad Amjad Khan Niazi in separate meetings.

During the meetings, professional matters and issues of bilateral navalcollaboration were discussed.

Italian Naval Chief lauded Pakistan Navy’s role and commitments inmaintaining peace and stability in the region through persistentparticipation in Coalition Maritime Campaign Plan and Counter Piracy TaskForces.

Admiral Valter Girardelli also laid floral wreath at Mazar-e-Quaid. Later,the dignitary visited various PN establishments and ships.

The visit of Chief of Italian Navy to Pakistan is expected to furtherstrengthen the bilateral defence collaboration between Pakistan and Italianin general and the two Navies in particular.
