Shahid Afridi strongly reacts over occupied Kashmir violence

KARACHI – Former Pakistani skipper Shahid Afridi has strongly condemned thefresh spree of violence in Indian-occupied-Kashmir.

The all-rounder termed the situation in the strife-torn valley‘appaling and worrisome’ calling upon the international organisations totake notice of the incidents.

“Wonder where is the @UN & other int bodies & why aren’t they makingefforts to stop this bloodshed?” wondered the 38-year-old cricketer.

It is noteworthy that the Indian forces unleashed a fresh assault on theKashmiris over the weekend killing over one and a half dozen in andinjuring 200 in the valley after fierce clashes between rebels andgovernment forces.

Moreover, at least 25 civilians suffered pellet wounds, while six otherswere being treated for bullet injuries, according to police. Locals,however, said that the number of those hurt was much higher.

Armed police and paramilitary soldiers in riot gear fanned out across theregion Monday and are patrolling streets in anticipation of anti-Indiaprotests and clashes.
