England s fast bowler James Anderson makes a new World Record

LONDON – England fast bowler James Anderson has broken another record afterrecording the most number of deliveries in Test cricket history by a pacebowler, 30,020.

Midway through the final day of the second Test against New Zealand inChristchurch, he overtook the previous record of 30,019 held by West Indiesgreat Courtney Walsh who retired in 2001.

During his career, Walsh took 519 wickets at 24.44 while Anderson has 531dismissals at 27.34.

Anderson is now fourth on the list of players to have bowled the mostdeliveries in Test cricket with the top three all spinners, headed by SriLanka´s Muttiah Muralitharan with 44,039, Anil Kumble with 408,50 at numbertwo while Shane Warne with his 407,05 deliveries has the third spot.

In 2015, Anderson became England’s leading Test wicket-taker. Last year,against West Indies, he took his 500th Test wicket.

England won the five-match ODI series 3-2 against New Zeland and lost thetwo-matchTest series 1-0.
