ISLAMABAD- Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal has said China Pakistan EconomicCorridor will be completed in three phases till 2030.

Addressing a ceremony in Lahore today, he said in first phase of CPEC,energy and physical infrastructure will be developed by 2020 in the country.

Interior Minister said government is taking concrete measures to overcomeenergy crisis and to improve infrastructure.

He said out of 46 billion dollars of CPEC, 35 billion dollars were to beinvested on improving Pakistan’s power sector. He said that Pakistan didnot invest even a single penny on CPEC as all investment is being made byChina. Ahsan Iqbal said investors from Europe, Middle East and other partsof world will start business in Pakistan which is proof of positive impactof CPEC on our economy.

He said a new middle class market is emerging in Pakistan as country willachieve the GDP target of 6 percent.

He said that CPEC projects will prove game changer for the economicprogress of Pakistan as well as the region.

Talking to newsmen after inauguration of NADRA Executive Passport Office inDHA, Lahore, Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal says Pakistan is the fifthemerging economy of world. The interior minister said the backbone ofterrorism has been broken under operation Radd ul Fasaad and now foreigninvestors are investing in Pakistan.

To another question, Ahsan Iqbal said the prime minister is in contact withthe opposition leader regarding the Caretaker setup.

Ahsan Iqbal said that we do not believe on any NRO and Inter ProvincialMinisterial Commission should be formed in the light of 18th constitutionalamendment.

He said that former President Pervez Musharraf will be provided security asper law. He said that former President should face court cases.
