ISLAMABAD – Former skipper Wasim Akram is not happy with the PakistanSuper League players performance this year.
He has expressed concern at not finding any noteworthy batsman in therecent edition of the Pakistan Super League.
The pacer, also known as the Sultan of Swing, said that while there didcome a few bowlers and all-rounders in the spotlight, no new batsmanmanaged to impress him.
He further remarked that this is due to the weak domestic structure ofcricket in Pakistan. He urged PCB to focus attention on developing domesticstructure.
He termed the recent PSL a successful event which would help bring cricketback to Pakistan. He lauded the performances of senior players like KumarSangakkar who he said inspired young players.
He also lauded Islamabad United as the deserved winners of the trophy andexpressed hope that his team, Multan Sultans will bounce back in the nextseason with marked improvement after suffering tough luck in the latesttournament.
