ISLAMABAD – Days after Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader MarviMemon taunted the party leadership, a senior journalist has made startlingrevelation regarding Memon’s job at Pakistan Army’s media wing during thetenure of former president General (retd) Pervez Musharraf.
Arif Nizami talking to a private news channel in a programme claimed thatMarvi Memon, who is also chairperson of Benazir Income Support Programme, had been accommodated in the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) aftercreating a new job position during Musharraf’s regime.
Referring to her recent Tweet in which she said mistake was committed bysomeone else and punishment was awarded to someone else, Nizami said suchreactions must have reasons.
One of the reasons behind this action is that politicians, who are used tochange their loyalties, start leaving the party when they come to knowabout troubles, like rats deserting a sinking ship.
He said Memon is an expert in computer software and she had been assigned atask to monitor the trends of media and presented a report to thenpresident Musharraf.
The journalist further revealed that Memon had to left the job due to somedispute with then director general of ISPR.
After Musharraf was sent packing, the BISP chairperson, who is the daughterof former information minister Nisar Memon, started efforts to get a placein the PTI and PML-N.
Later, the PML-N accepted her and bestowed her with a prominent post.
