NEW DELHI – A female crew member on an Air Vistara flight has beensexually assaulted last Saturday.
The incident allegedly took place when the Tata Vistara flight from Lucknowlanded in Delhi and passengers were about to exit the plane. The airhostess told the police that she was sexually assaulted by the maninappropriately when he was getting down.
The airline said in a statement that it would not tolerate abusivebehaviour by passengers.
“A cabin crew member on Lucknow-Delhi flight on 24th March reported sexualharassment by a passenger. Vistara does not tolerate abusive or unrulybehaviour by passengers that puts safety of its staff and other customersat risk, or compromises their dignity,” said the airline.
The businessman has been charged with sexual harassment and if convicted,faces up to three years in jail and a fine, the police said today.
In December, an Indian actress said that she was molested by a co-passengeron a Delhi-Mumbai flight of Air Vistara.
