*KARACHI: Top hitman of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Raees Mamma isarrested from Karachi airport*.

The International Criminal Police Organisation (Interpol) had arrested thealleged target killer in Malaysia in December last year and he was handedover to Karachi police on March 26.

Mamma is said to be affiliated with militant wing of the Muttahida QaumiMovement (MQM).

SSP Korangi Zulfiqar Mehr said Investigation was underway from Raees Mamma.He said the accused was wanted in scores of heinous crimes includingterrorism and target killing.

“Red warrants were issued against him for his involvement in dozens ofmurder incidents,” he said.

Earlier in Oct 2015, an anti-terrorism court (ATC) issued non-bailablearrest warrants against Raees Mamma and other absconders.

The MQM Korangi Sector-Incharge was declared proclaimed offender forproviding shelter to terrorists.

Mamma is a prime suspect in May 12 incident, wherein 40 people were killedin Karachi. The suspect is facing over 50 criminal cases.

He fled the country after Rangers launched ‘Karachi Operation’ in 2013.

Mamma is also said to be a close companion of Hammad Siddiqui, an accusedin the 2012 Baldia Town factory fire.

He was also involved in land grabbing in the metropolis.
