KARACHI – Joint Interrogation Team (JIT) formed to probe the encounter ofNaqibullah Mehsud has revealed its findings today.
JIT formed under the directives of Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) has heldformer Malir Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rao Anwar Ahmed Khanresponsible for killing Naqeebullah Mehsud and three others in a “fakeencounter” in Karachi on January 13, Dawn reported on Friday.
A JIT member informed Dawn on the condition of anonymity that theinvestigation team has “held Rao Anwar guilty of killing an innocent personin a fake encounter”.
The news source has further learnt that the JIT — which was led byAdditional IG Dr Aftab Pathan — has submitted its findings before thecompetent authority.
