Accountability Court gives a blow to Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz

ISLAMABAD – Accountability court has rejected the exemption plea filed byNawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz in Avenfield reference against former PrimeMinister Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz.

During the proceedings headed by Justice Mohammad Bashir, defence lawyerAmjad Pervez submitted a plea seeking exemption of ex-prime minister NawazSharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz from court appearance for seven daysas they are in London to visit ailing Begum Kulsoom.

The court has rejected their plea and and allowed to make NAB directorgeneral as witness.

Earlier on Wednesday, Nawaz Sharif and Maryam left for London*link>*toinquire about the health of Begum Kulsoom Nawaz who is undergoing cancertreatment at a hospital in Britain’s capital.

All the rallies of PML-N have also been postponed. Nawaz and Maryam were toaddress gatherings in Lala Musa on April 20, Sahiwal on April 21andMansehra on April 22. The new dates for the rallies will be announcedlater.

Maryam Nawaz had tweeted that they will be returning back before nextproceedings if their request not granted.
