ISLAMABAD – A man in India killed his 32-year-old wife, Luxmi, forexcessive use of Facebook and WhatsApp.

Hariom, who married Luxmi in 2006, strangled her to death in her sleep.

Hariom told cops that he was fed up of his wife’s addiction to socialnetworking sites and she would spend hours on her mobile phone.

He alleged that she ignored her family too.

“We got married in 2006 and had two children. All was fine for the firstfew years and then I got her a smartphone. In the past two years, the phonegradually changed her, and she started ignoring me and the children. Itseemed that the children and I had ceased to exist for her. She would notcook meals or do any household chore; she would not take the kids to schoolor help them do homework. She spent days and nights on Facebook andWhatsApp,” said Hariom, who runs a computer repair shop.

“I initially ignored all, thinking she would soon get bored with all thesebut things only got worse. We were fighting every day and the children werealso under stress,” he added.

He revealed that he was forced to send his children to a boarding schooldue to her negligence.
