ISLAMABAD – FIR has been registered against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz(PML-N) lawmakers and workers who held a demonstration against the SupremeCourt verdict, disqualifying former prime minister Nawaz Sharif for life, acase was registered against the protesters at the Secretariat PoliceStation on Tuesday.
MPA Tehseen Jawad, Sajid Awan, Rafique Chaudhry and others were booked inthe case in which different sections, including shouting of slogans againstthe apex court, were added.
However, no arrest was made after registration of the case as yet.
Following the protest, sources claimed that the station house officer wassuspended, besides transfer of other high-rank officers.
Police high-ups were asked as to how workers of a political party managedto reach outside the top court. Sources added that the Islamabad Policeinspector general was also taken to the task over the incident.
