KABUL- Leader of Hezb-e-Islami Gulbuddin Hekmatyar emphasizes that the safezones might encourage Taliban to accept the offer for peace talks.

A prominent Afghan political figure and ex-member of the parliamentMohammad Younus Qanooni reacted at the suggestions to establish safe zonesfor the Taliban group.

In his speech during a gathering organized for peace process, Qanooni saidthe establishment of safe zones for the Taliban group would mean partitionof Afghanistan.

Qanooni further added that those who are making suggestions should rethinkabout the issue and carefully review their recommendations.

This comes as the leader of Hezb-e-Islami Gulbuddin Hekmatyar emphasizesthat the safe zones might encourage Taliban to accept the offer for peacetalks.
