Nawaz wanted me to book Zardari in a fake narcotics case: Ch Shujaat

*LAHORE*: Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) president Chaudhry ShujaatHussain on Tuesday alleged that the 2008 general elections were rigged andthat “America wanted Benazir Bhutto to come to power.”

The shocking disclosure and other such revelations were made by the formerprime minister in his book ‘*Sach To Hai*‘ which was launched in Lahore onTuesday. Shujaat speaking about his book stated, “I’ve written nothing butthe truth in it.”

The PML-Q president also mentioned how Nawaz Sharif asked him to frame AsifAli Zardari in a “fake narcotics case”, however, he (Chaudhry Shujaat)refused to go ahead with the proceedings.

Chaudhry in his book writes, “Before Nawaz was sworn in as prime ministerfor the second time in 1997, Mian Sharif visited me and promised to makePervez Ellahi the chief minister of Punjab.” However, when Nawaz came topower he appointed his younger brother, Shehbaz Sharif, on the post.

Continuing with his shocking revelations, the PML-Q leader alleged formerprime minister Shaukat Aziz complained about the then-chief justice ofPakistan Iftikhar Chaudhry to Pervez Musharraf.

“When Iftikhar Chaudhry was reinstated, I advised Musharraf to settledifferences with him and he was ready to do so, however, his aides did notallow the relationship between the two individuals to thaw” he added.

Chaudhry Shujaat further claimed that Pervez Musharraf used to say thatformer prime minister of Pakistan Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali was “extremelylazy”.

“He [Musharraf] used to complain that Jamali wakes up at noon and hadreservations with him so I advised Jamali to resign,” he wrote in his book.
