KABUL – According to Uruzgan security chief Gen. Rahmatullah Sediqi, atleast 18 Taliban insurgents were killed and 17 others were wounded duringthe operation.

Gen. Sediqi further added that the operation was conducted in the vicinityof Khas Uruzgan district on Saturday to suppress the armed militants.

He said at least three security personnel including two army soldiers and apoliceman also lost their lives during the operation and three others werewounded.

The Taliban militants and Afghan armed forces suffered casualties duringthe operation in southern Uruzgan province of Afghanistan, the localofficials said Sunday.
