*KARACHI: Political workers belonging to Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) andPakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) came to blows after a dispute over venue forMay 12 rallies turned violent here in Karachi’s Hakim Saeed ground onMonday night*. Several people have been injured.
Addressing a press conference earlier in the day, PPP leader Saeed Ghaniclaimed that PPP had sought permission from the DC East on May 4, whoinformed him that no political party was organising or has soughtpermission to hold a political gathering at the venue.
He said the PTI administration in Karachi had decided to hold a rally onMay 12 near the VIP Gate of Quaid-e-Azam’s mausoleum.
However, he said that PTI has organised a camp at the venue preventing themfrom making arrangements which was rather unfair. He said the PPP was aresponsible party and would organise at a venue where they was noconfrontation with other parties.
