Abusing military and judiciary, LHC tightens noose around PML N lawmakers

LAHORE – A full bench of the Lahore High Court (LHC) has been formed overthe tirade against the institution of judiciary by parliamentarians ofruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in Kasur.

The full bench will take up the case on May 2.

Earlier, 60 activists of the ruling PML-N in Kasur had been arrested forusing abusive language against Supreme Court judges and the militaryestablishment.

PML-N lawmakers led by parliamentarians Waseem Akhtar and Naeem Safdar helda rally on April 13 in Kasur district to lodge a protest against theSupreme Court’s verdict imposing a lifetime ban on ousted prime ministerNawaz Sharif from taking part in parliamentary politics.

As some clips of the rally in which participants using abusive languageagainst Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar and the military were circulated onsocial media, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif ordered arrest of theparticipants in the rally.
