SRINAGAR – In occupied Kashmir, forceful demonstrations were held inSrinagar, Tral and Pahelgam today against the continued detention ofresistance leaders, surge in the killing of youth and other atrocities bythe Indian troops in the territory.
The protesters raising high-pitched pro-freedom and anti-India sloganscondemned the continued house arrest of the APHC Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani.
Addressing the protesters, the Hurriyat leaders said India had unleashedthe worst form of state terrorism to suppress the Kashmiris’ struggle forsecuring their right to self-determination but would never succeed in itsnefarious designs.
The APHC Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani, in a statement in Srinagar hailed therecent assertion of President Mamnoon Hussain wherein he sought theimplementation of the UN resolutions to settle the Kashmir dispute. Theoctogenarian leader said that Pakistan always stood like a rock guardingthe Kashmiris’ just cause.
The Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq addressing a gatheringat Jamia Masjid in Srinagar strongly denounced the use of brute force onprotesters particularly students by the Indian troops and police personnel.
Meanwhile, complete shutdown was observed in Tral and Shopian against therecent killing of youth by the Indian troops.
