LAHORE: Principal Secretary of Prime Minister, Fawad Hasan Fawad appearedbefore the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for the third in theAshiana housing scam on Friday.

NAB sources told private channel that Fawad Hasan Fawad is one of the primesuspect in the investigation into the Ashiana-e-Iqbal Housing Society scamand he is blamed of using his authority when he was doing services in thePunjab government.

NAB officials questioned Fawad Hasan for around hour and he was given aquestionnaire by the authorities.

The accountability watchdog has already arrested former Lahore DevelopmentAuthority director general Ahad Cheema in the scam.

Fawad is accused of illegally awarding the contract for the Ashiana-e-IqbalHousing Scheme of the provincial government.

According to NAB, the contract for the project was won by a constructioncompany titled Chaudhry Latif and Sons.

However, the anti-graft body stated, Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharifand his aides awarded it instead to Lahore Casa Developers, a proxy groupof Paragon City (Pvt) Limited, which is said to be owned by RailwaysMinister Saad Rafique.
