T10 Cricket league dates announced: Two more teams join in

*DUBAI: T10 Cricket League have announced inclusion of two more teams tothe massively successful league’s second edition*. During a pressconference in Dubai, T10 League’s Chairman Shaji Ul Mulk and PresidentSalman Iqbal announced the inclusion of two more teams to the league’s 2018edition which will be held in UAE in the month of November.

The two teams, namely Karachians and Northern warriors, will join the sixteams who played the first edition of the revolutionary league.

The league’s inaugural edition was held last year in a four-day tournament,but this year, the excitement will continue for six more days as thematches will be spread out over a 10-day competition.

“We have increased the number of games on demand of the league’s fans,” CEOARY Digital Network and President T10 League Salman Iqbal told media.

He was of the view that they (the organisers) faced challenges when theylaunched the league last year but the league has “proven itself” in justone year.

*“In just one year, T10 has proven itself. If the interest continues togrow at this rate, we might even take cricket to the Olympics,” said SalmanIqbal, who also owns PSL franchise Karachi Kings.*

Citing examples of cricketing legends Javed Miandad, Imran Khan and WasimAkram, Salman Iqbal said that cricketing stars in the subcontinent are bornout of street cricket, which has a 10-over format.

Other than inclusion of Karachians and Northern Warriors, the 2018 editionwill also see rebranding of team Sri Lanka as Rajasthani Heroes. Thefranchise will be allowed to include players from all over the world.

The T10 league, like the Pakistan Super League, is a franchise-basedtournament but features the 10-over format of the game.

It is the first internationally-approved league with a 10-over format thatwas launched by Chairman Shaji Ul Mulk, Founder of Mulk Holdings, andPresident Salman Iqbal, founder and CEO of ARY Digital Network.
