ISLAMABAD – The government has released Rs 659.5 billion (66 percent)including Rs 155.8 billion from foreign aid for different developmentprojects under the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) 2017-18 againstthe total budgeted allocation of Rs 1001 billion.
According to the latest data released by the Ministry of Planning,Development and Reform, the government released Rs 160.02 billion (53percent of total budgeted amount) for development projects of variousfederal ministries against the total budgeted allocation of Rs 301.83billion.
The government has not released funds for development projects of ForeignAffairs Division, National Security Division, Special Provision forCompletion of CPEC Project and Gas Infrastructure Development Cess.
The government has released Rs 253.98 billion including Rs 101.38 billionforeign aid for the National Highway Authority (NHA) for which Rs 324.72billion was budgeted for 2017-18, whereas for WAPDA (Power) an amount of Rs40.6 billion including Rs 39.95 billion foreign aid has been released, outof the total budgeted allocation of Rs 60.9 billion.
Railways Division received Rs 19.384 billion out of its total budgetedallocation of Rs 42.9 billion whereas Aviation Division received Rs 3.39billion out of its total budgeted allocation of Rs 4.348 billion.
The government has released an amount of Rs 30.44 billion including Rs 523million foreign aid for Water and Power Division (Water Sector) against thetotal budgeted allocation of Rs 36.75 billion for current fiscal year.
The government also released an amount of Rs 19.01 billion for variousdevelopment projects of Higher Education Commission (HEC) out of totalbudgeted allocation of Rs 35.662 billion for ongoing financial year, whileRs 126.1 billion has been released for Atomic Energy Commission.
The government has released Rs 2.64 billion to Capital Administration andDevelopment Division, Rs 782.57 million to Climate Change Division, Rs 485million to Commerce Division, Rs 10.13 billion for Communication Division(other than NHA), Rs 11.88 billion to Interior Division, Rs 286.53 millionto Pakistan Nuclear Regulatory Authority and Rs 2.1 billion to Planning,Development and Reform.
An amount of Rs 9.3 billion has been disbursed for National HealthServices, Regulations and Coordination Division, for which an amount of Rs48.701 billion was allocated in the federal PSDP 2017-18 while Rs 13.5billion has been released for Finance Division out of its total earmarkedallocation of Rs 20.9 billion.
Under PSDP 2017-18, an amount of Rs 1.05 billion for differentdevelopmental projects of National Food Security and Research Divisionagainst the earmarked Rs 1.62 billion for the development of agriculturesector in the country were disbursed.
The government has released Rs 53.43 billion for Special FederalDevelopment Program for temporarily displaced persons (TDPs) against Rs 90billion budgeted allocation and Rs 11.95 billion for development projectsof Prime Minister’s Youth Program under current fiscal year 2017-18.
The entire amount of Rs 30 billion has been released for Prime Minister’sGlobal SDGs Achievement Program.
The government released Rs 1.77 billion for Port and Shipping Division, Rs873.95 million to Science and Technological Research Division, Rs 268.597million for Defense Division, Rs 7.324 million for Housing and WorksDivision and Rs 1.79 billion for Defense and Production Division.——————————
An amount of Rs 464.4 million has been released for Petroleum and NaturalResource Division out of its allocations of Rs 554.291 billion, Rs 2.1billion for Planning, Development and Reform Division out of itsallocations of Rs 8.556 billion whereas Rs 2.4 billion has been releasedfor SUPARCO out of its allocations of Rs 3.5 billion.
The government released Rs 22.75 billion including Rs 877.127 millionforeign aid for development projects of Azad Jammu and Kashmir against thetotal budgeted allocation of Rs 25.84 billion for current fiscal year. Thegovernment also released Rs 15.4 billion for development projects ofGilgit-Baltistan against Rs 18.3 billion budgeted allocation, while Rs25.46 billion have been released for the projects of Federally AdministeredTribal Areas (FATA) against the total budgeted allocation of Rs 26.9billion.
