WASHINGTON – The United States has lodged a complaint against India overunder-reporting its price support for grains.

In a joint statement, the US Trade Representative and AgricultureDepartment said it appears that India has substantially under-reported itsmarket price support for wheat and rice.

The statement said the under-reporting and excess price support violate therules of World Trade Organization.
