Dubai Airport announces New incentives for transit Passengers

DUBAI – Dubai Airport has announced the decision to allow passengers withthe transit time of more than four hours to take the city to take Dubaicity tour.

Dubai Airports, in cooperation with Dubai Future Foundation (DFF), hasdeveloped the ‘Microcosm of Dubai’, a new initiative that aims to allowpassengers at Dubai International to experience the city’s tourism offeringboth inside and outside the aviation hub.

The Microcosm of Dubai project launched by Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad BinRashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, is part of a series ofinitiatives developed under the umbrella of ‘Dubai 10X’, which aims toplace Dubai 10 years ahead of other cities.

The ‘Microcosm of Dubai’ project aims to showcase the city’s culture,innovation and attractions in a bid to entice visitors to come to Dubai.

Meanwhile, passengers with less than four hours of transit time will beable to take a “virtual tour” of the city.

“The ‘Microcosm of Dubai’, developed in cooperation with the Dubai FutureFoundation, will enable hundreds of thousands of passengers passing throughDubai International Airport daily to experience the various facets of Dubaiwhile they are in the airport through interactive experiences, virtualreality and cultural displays with our artDXB and musicDXB programmes.

If their connection time exceeds four hours, they will have the option oftaking a tour of Dubai,” said CEO of Dubai Airports, Paul Griffiths.

According to Griffiths, the new initiative will enable them to achievetheir goal of disrupting current airport models by focusing on the customerand discovering new ideas that solve current service challenges.
