Australian Chief of Defence Forces lauds Pakistan Army role in war against terrorism

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Australia Air Chief Marshal MarkBinskin on Tuesday arrived in GHQ and met with COAS General Qamar Bajwa.

He acknowledged and appreciated the efforts and sacrifices of Pakistan Armyin war against terrorism and for regional stability, according to theInter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The chief of Australian defence forces called on Army Chief General QamarJaved Bajwa during his visit to General Headquarters (GHQ), Rawalpindi onTuesday, the ISPR said in a statement.

During the meeting, the two military commanders exchanged views on issuesof mutual interest, including defence and security cooperation between boththe countries and overall regional security situation, the statement added.

Earlier on arrival at the GHQ, Air Chief Marshal Binskin laid a floralwreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada. A smartly turned out contingent of PakistanArmy also presented Guard of Honour to the visiting dignitary.
