ISLAMABAD – Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) Islamabad has signed anagreement with Plan International and Japan International CooperationAgency (JICA) to bring the women of far flung and deprived areas intoeducational net.

The signing ceremony was held in Islamabad attended by representatives ofall three organizations.

Addressing the ceremony, Vice Chancellor AIOU Dr Shahid Siddiqui said theproject will help provide education to drop out girls of distant areas.

He said AIOU has been providing free of cost education to drop out girls upto middle level in Nankana Sahib, Vehari, Chakwal, Kharian and Thatta.

Dr Shahid Siddiqui said the University is also bringing the vulnerablesegments of society into national mainstream and making them productivecitizens.
