Afghan Taliban kill ISIS-K members near border with Pakistan

KABUL – Taliban militants have killed two members of the Islamic State ofIraq and Syria – Khurasan (ISIS-K) during a clash in eastern Kunar provinceof Afghanistan bordering Pakistan.

The 201st Silab Corps of the Afghan Military in the East said the latestinfighting between the two sides took place on Friday in the vicinity ofNoor Gul district.

The Silab Corps did not disclose further information in this regard withthe Taliban and ISIS-K militants yet to comment regarding the incident.

In the meantime, the Silab Corps said the Afghan forces have arrested sevensuspects during an operation in Sia Gerd district of Parwan province.

Parwan is among the relatively calm provinces in North of Afghanistan butthe anti-government armed militants are active in some remote districts ofthe province.

The militants often carry out insurgency and terrorist related activities,including roadside bombs, coordinated attacks, and suicide bombings in thisprovince.
