Committee formed to end deadlock over caretaker KP CM nomination

ISLAMABAD: A six-member committee was constituted on Friday to end deadlock over nomination of caretaker Chief Minister for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and give a unanimous name.

PTI provincial leader Shaukat Yousafzai told media that the committee comprises of equal representation from both treasury and opposition to finalize the name of caretaker Chief Minister within three days.

He hoped that the committee would give a unanimous name within the time adding the members included Shahram Taraqai, Atif Khan, Mehmood Khan of PTI and Mufti Fazal Ghafoor, Salim Marwat and Mehmood Bhittani of opposition.

Earlier, Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf and Jamiat-ul-Ulema Islam (F) failed to develop consensus on the nomination of caretaker chief minister.

The outgoing Chief Minister Pervez Khattak and leader of opposition in the dissolved provincial assembly Maulana Lutfur Rehman held talks in Islamabad to develop consensus about the nomination of caretaker chief minister. But the talks failed to make any headway.
