ISLAMABAD : NAB is an apex national anti-corruption organization which wasestablished in 1999 to eradicate corruption and recover looted money fromcorrupt and deposit in national exchequer.

NAB has its Headquarters in Islamabad and eight regional bureaus inRawalpindi, Lahore, Karachi, Quetta, KPK, Multan, Sukkur and GilgitBaltistan, says a press statement issued here Sunday.

NAB since its inception has received about 3, 78541 complaints fromindividuals and private / public organizations. During this period, NABauthorized 12, 935 complaint verification, 8220 inquiries, 4021investigations, filed 3296 corruption references in respectiveaccountability courts.

Today, 1211 corruption references are under process in the respectiveaccountability courts and overall conviction ratio of NAB is about 77percent which is great achievement of NAB besides recovering Rs. 296.850/-billion of ill-gotten money from corrupt and all amount deposited in thenational exchequer.

NAB is absolutely committed to work honestly, transparently, fairly,professionally and on merit for a 100 % corruption free Pakistan inaccordance with law. Pakistan is considered as role model for SAARCCountries in eradication of Corruption due to NAB’s efforts as Pakistan isthe only country who’s Corruption Perception Index (CPI) according toTransparency International Report has been decreased from 175 to 116.

Pakistan is the first Chairman of SAARC Anti Corruption Forum which isgreat achievement for Pakistan due to NAB as well as NAB. This is justbecause of the proactive Anti-Corruption Strategy of Awareness, Preventionand Enforcement adopted by NAB and involving youth of Universities,Colleges and Schools to aware them about the ill effects of corruption atan early age.

Today, NAB is the only organization who has established 55 thousandsCharacter Building Societies of students throughout the country. Due tothis reason, today eradication of corruption is the voice of the wholenation and NAB under the dynamic leadership of Honorable Justice Mr. JavedIqbal, Chairman NAB is working hard to come up to the expectations of thenation.

Both opposition and ruling party had appointed Justice Javed Iqbal ChairmanNAB with consensus. The reason was his integrity, honesty and excellentpast record of Justice Javed Iqbal. After assuming charge, Justice said onvery first day (October 11, 2017), that his new responsibilities werechallenging and working honestly would contribute in enhancing goodwill ofthe institution and winning respect from the people. Justice Javed Iqbal,Chairman NAB as Acting Chief Justice of Supreme Court of Pakistan adoptedpolicy “Justice for all” and now as Chairman NAB his policy is‘Accountability for all’.

Today, NAB’s sun is shining across the country due to NAB’s ‘Accountabilityof All’ policy. NAB has rejuvenated in more than seven months to eradicatecorruption at all cost from Pakistan. Chairman NAB not only got briefingfrom every wing of NAB and directed all DGS to complete inquiries,investigations within the stipulated time period of ten months. Afterassumption of his responsibilities, on October 25, Chairman NAB had alsosought report of 179 mega corruption cases and directed all DGs of NAB thatnow cases will not be kept in files and it will be completed withinstipulated time frame as per law.

NAB has initiated complaint verifications against politicians, bureaucratsand ex-military officers across the board on alleged allegations ofcorruption etc which are not final until they prove correct as per law. Theindiscriminate action has increased the prestige of NAB manifold due toindiscriminate and visible action against the mighty as the aim of NAB isto apprehend the corrupt and deposit the looted amount in the nationalexchequer.

Chairman NAB Justice Javed Iqbal has spent major part of his life inproviding justice to people. He has an unmatchable and flawless personalitywith integrity and honor. He believes in self respect of humanity and doesnot believe in breaching self esteem of any person. He is human friendly,straight forward, law abiding and has unblemished personality. His lastmore than seven months performance has proved without any iota of doubtthat Justice has proved true to his words indiscriminate accountability ismost important in the progress and prosperity of a country.

Justice Javed’s practical measures have been lauded by the whole nation.The whole nation is with the NAB for elimination of corruption. It could besaid that the initiatives taken by Justice Javed of indiscriminate measuresagainst elimination of corruption have won laurels of all and sundry.
